Photo Gallery: Supercars Darwin 2019
The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship annual trip to Darwin is one of my favourite fly away events of the year.
After a busy start to the year… Well, in fact, I’ve been on the road every week since the Adelaide 500. So the Hidden Valley round is a chance to take onboard Darwin’s more relaxed lifestyle, enjoy the warmth of Top End’s dry season and reset a little bit while not actually taking a holiday.
The whole city gets behind the Supercars and the pre-event activities are not only a great way to promote the round but a bit of fun for those of us working in the media as well. I really appreciate that the organisers put in that extra effort and I’m able to do the trip each year, even though it’s not a profitable event for InSyde Media to cover.
Actually, the drivers may have got a little too caught up relaxed Darwin atmosphere, there were a fair few mistakes that resulted in some pretty big crashes and a bit of on-track carnage throughout the weekend. Some of which I just happened to be in the right place to capture, which you can check out below.
Make sure you scroll through this small selection my photos from the Virgin Australian Supercars Championship round at Hidden Valley Raceway up in Darwin, as well as a couple of shots from the support categories including Porsche Carrera Cup and Aussie Racing Cars.
