Photo Gallery: Supercars Bathurst 1000 2019
Every year The Mountain tells a story… And this year’s Bathurst 1000 was certainly no exception.
Laps records tumbled. The Ford Mustang won at Bathurst for the first time. Scott McLaughlin ticked another box in his stellar Supercars career. And it was another win for DJR 30 years after their last one.
If you look beyond all the harsh comments on social media and the journalistic sensationalism, it was actually a remarkable result not only for the team, but for the sport as well. Bathurst is Supercars biggest stage, people who wouldn’t normally watch motorsport will watch the Bathurst 1000. So for a manufacturer and a team who’ve made a huge investment in the sport recently, particularly this year, to get a result is a good thing. Regardless of your allegiance.
As for the InSyde Media side of things, Bathurst is always a massive undertaking. I asked Nathan to come in and give me a hand to make sure all of our customers left the event with all the iconic photos they’ve come to expect from us at Mt Panorama.
Four days might seem like a lot of time the track, and it is for the Supercars sessions with seven hours of practice in the lead up to the big race. But for the support categories, with their short one or two sessions per day, having an extra photographer was an important investment to really made sure thall all of our customers ended up with full coverage of them and their car around the circuit.
It’s not everyday you get to race at Bathurst. So I always make sure we make that extra effort to capture those memories.
