Photo Gallery: Supercars Adelaide 500 – 2020

by Mar 1, 2020

So the first week of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship for 2020 was intense.

Everyone in the Supercars circus went straight from Tuesday’s SuperTest at The Bend Motorsport Park to the Adelaide Parklands on Wednesday to set up for the season-opening Superloop Adelaide 500.

It turned out to be quite a big week. Although, thankfully, Adelaide didn’t turn on its usual scorching hot summer days this year which made things a little bit easier.

If I’m being honest, we were a little short on customers this year in Adelaide. That’s no shortcoming of our own, grid sizes were down and based on the conversations we’d had with several people in both the lead up to and during the Adelaide 500, it’s been tougher than usual trying to raise sponsorship this year.

I think a lot of that has to do with the recent devastating bushfires and floods in Australia. A lot of the “spare money” that would usually be directed towards sponsorships has been instead used, rightly, to donate to fundraising efforts for those causes instead.

That said we did see several last-minute deals come together for a couple of our usual customers, which was great to see. Hopefully, the market will continue to improve to make it a little easier for our customers planning on racing in series’s are yet to start to lock their sponsors for this year.

With that all said, here’s a couple of my favourite photos from the Adelaide 500. As always if you are looking for photos at any event on this years Virgin Australia Supercars Championship calendar, or would like to chat about other events this year, be sure to get in touch.
