After many trips south, this years trip up to Darwin with the Virgin Australia Supercars round at Hidden Valley Raceway was a pleasant change of climate.

The trip to is Darwin always a highlight of the year, it’s a great way to the media, competitors and even fans to escape winter for a week.

Everyone takes advantage of the trip, ourselves included, to spend a couple of extra days in the ‘Top End’ for media events and to enjoy the warmth.

This year was no different, with the minor exception of chasing the Robby Gordon story around Darwin for Auto Action on what was supposed to be our scheduled day off. That work was rewarded with a lot of traffic for Auto Actions website which we also take care of.

The rest of the race meeting went well, we had a busy few days out at the track taking care our customers within the support categories, particularly drivers in Touring Car Masters and the Stadium Super Trucks. It was also great to see a regular customer of ours Jaxon Evans get his maiden win in Porsche Carrera Cup before clean sweeping the round. All fresh off the back of his Australian GT win at Phillip Island a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway, that’s enough chat about the racing on the weekend. Here’s a collection of Rhys Vandersyde’s favourite photo’s from the Virgin Australia Supercars at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin.
