We’ve been quite fortunate to cover some world class events in the past, and while this year we weren’t covering the Formula One action of the Australian Grand Prix. We were on hand to give our customers the best coverage of the Virgin Australian Supercars, Australian GT Championship and the Porsche Carrera Cup.

At events on the world stage, like Formula One, the FIA offer different levels of media accreditation. However with the customers and media brief that we had for the event, having FIA Formula One credentials wasn’t a major concern, so we didn’t bother with pursuing it. Instead we focused our efforts on the local Australian categories competing at the event.

That said, with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne being the opening round of the Formula One each year, there is a lot of media interest in the event. Which is great for photographers, even if we aren’t capturing the F1 action. Simply because the access and quality of the photographic areas at the Albert Park circuit is much better than any of the other street circuits we visit throughout the year. Especially the elevated photographer platforms around the circuit that allow us to create different and interesting photographs, often angles we can’t capture at other events.

Here’s a couple of Rhys Vandersyde’s favourite photo’s of the Supercars from Albert Park. We’ve also posted a small gallery of photos of the Australian GT and Porsche Carrera Cup action over on our facebook page. You may have also seen our work in leading motorsport publications after the weekend.
